Agriculture is the main source of income in McGehee. Cotton, rice, soybeans, wheat, grain sorghum, cattle and catfish are the main agricultural products.  There is a cotton gins, two grain dryers, one rice mill, grain storage and a federal compress in McGehee.

The Bunge Corporation on the Mississippi River provides grain marketing services. The Yellow Bend Port is available for barge shipping services. The port provides cost-efficient shipping in and out of port, using a 40-ton overhead crane as well as a conveyor system.
